NATIONAL
HOSPITAL ABUJA is a multi-disciplinary tertiary
hospital located in the Central Area of FCT, Abuja.
It has standard laboratory services and State-of-the-Art
equipment backed up by diverse specialists and consultants.
The government expects the hospital management to
generate adequate funds not only to sustain the
operations and growth but to ensure that it continues
to maintain its position at the topmost centre of
healthcare provision comparable to any similar institution
anywhere in the world. However, one of the challenges
facing the hospital is the increasing number of
indigent patients. In line with the Hippocratic
Oath taken by Doctors and bearing in mind that we
should endeavour to be our brother's keeper, it
is the policy of NHA that no patient will be turned
away because of their inability to pay. It is on
record that the hospital has for long borne and
still bears the burden of treating patients who
even on first contact with the hospital obviously
have no means of paying.
The
hospital has therefore resolved to set up a Trust
Fund, to be christened "Friends of National
Hospital" to raise funds for these category
of patients who the hospital believes as Nigerians,
irrespective of social/financial standing. It is
with the awareness of this underlying objectives
that we are introducing Friends of National Hospital
Trust Fund and we count on your zealous commitment
to join us to extend the essence of humanity to
these less privileged Nigerians. Regardless of how
little, your contribution is, we can guarantee you
the satisfaction of having touched somebody's life.
We
believe that giving is all about meeting a need.
Please all support either in Cash, Bank Draft or
Cheque will be acknowledged by the Chief Medical
Director or The Chairperson of the Trust Fund. All
